You should be able to do this. However if you are just wanting to stream MP3 or WMA internet radion stations, you can do this using the SqueezeNetwork. This will handle the control of the SqueezeBox and tell it to play the stream directly from the provider.
If you want to listen to RealAudio stream (the the BBCs internet radio streams) then you will need a Slimserver of your own. This can be either a regular PC acting as a server, or a NAS device that runs Slimserver and can handle the transcoding of RealAudio. the Qunap is one such device. By default the Qnap has the latest release version of Slimserver and AlienBBC (this is the plugin that handles all the BBC listen again streams, live streams and any other RealAudio streams out there) already installed if you buy the device from Progressive Computing (http://www.cooltopia.com/) or one of their resellers. As for having the Qnap wirelessly connected to your AP, you will need to get a bridge for the Qnap as it doesn't have a wirless connection built in (there has been talk of a optional extra, but this hasn't appeared yet). It would be best if the Qnap was directly connected to your router though, wireless can be extremely unreliable in the wrong situation. -- funkstar ------------------------------------------------------------------------ funkstar's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2335 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=24336 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
