What signal strength does the player report in Settings->Information->Player Info->Signal strength.
I have an SB3 & SB2 This sounds very much like the behaviour I see occasionally on the SB2 which seems to be in a wirless "blackspot". The wireless strength hovers around the 30-40% mark and sometimes looses connectivity. Playback of the buffered music continues and usually the SB re-connect without me noticing any breakup.
