bug. i just think a line saying "one must 'clear and scan' their
library after updating this option" is necessary.

My point was that all told, everyone in this post has probably spent 90 minutes or more writing and reading paragraphs and paragraphs of pointless prose.
I want to clarify that I am not someone who spends any time working with the Slimserver code -- I do know a decent bit of Perl, but Slimserver is over my head, and I don't have the time to learn it. My only other advantage is that my server is on Linux, so I already had the source instead of having to go download it separately. Once that's done, the Windows or Mac search functions would do just as well as grep does here, only a bit slower.
