I moved after about 2 years' use and gave my first batch to my brother.
AFAIK they're all still working, which would make them about 4 years
old now.  The new batch I have is about a year old.

If they don't last 5 years you can return them for a replacement -
there's a guarantee on the back of the ones I got.  I kept the receipt
too...

Yes, I agree, if it doesn't make economic sense I don't go for it.  I
may no longer be working as an engineer, but the mindset is still
there.
