Generally, I believe it has been found that it is Firefox that is causing the leaks. There is some anecdotal evidence that 6.5 has improved this by not using certain 'buggy' scripting techniques for refreshing on Firefox. You don't say what version you are running for any of the products involved (Firefox, SlimServer) so others may not have many more specific suggestions.
You might find that Firefox by itself doesn't cause the leak but one of your installed extensions does. Firefox cannot guard against a buggy extension.
