I have now clarified this issue with technical support. Apparently Perl on windows will not work with double-byte characters in the filename. There is little likelihood that this will be fixed anytime soon. The only solution is to rename all the files concerned. Since I manage my library with iTunes and it does not seem to have a preference to preclude this behaviour, I am SOL. If this is important to anyone else, you may want to keep in mind when purchasing.
If they're MP3 files, an external tagger could do the job. Check out mp3tag. -- "I spent all me tin with the ladies drinking gin, So across the Western ocean I must wander" -- traditional _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
