Isn't support for threads in perl just fork? That's a pretty horrible
way to do concurrency vs threadpools, etc, that you can get in
languages like c++ or java, and a great way to get a lot of really evil
heisenbugs. I've honestly never heard anyone claim that perl was a good
language for concurrent programming. But you're right, this is a
theological conversation at this point :). I'm not advocating a rewrite
any more than you are.
