I can tell you what I did. One of the walls in my kitchen is shared with 
the garage. I put the Amp (A Sonic Impact T-Amp) on a shelf in the 
garageand fed the SB3 (dc) power
line through the wall together with the audio line out. The SB3 is on a 
nice silver & glass shelf in a corner of the kitchen. No wires visible. 
The speakers are on both corners of the wall and the wires run through 
the garage.

The little T-Amp uses little power and produces no noise so I just leave 
it on.
