I'm very much like you Tyler. Currently, I'm on Windows but have an old
PIII machine right next to me that I'm loading Ubuntu on  for purposes
of an SS server. I have run SS on Michael Herger's SlimCD with
wonderful results but am moving to a full "blown" linux installation.
