Adam .. I was thinking a bit more about your problem. Taking the FLAC HDD to work is the only way you can have lossless music there. I doubt you will be able to stream FLAC from home to work, unless you have really high bandwidth at both ends. So if you were going to do real time transcoding to mp3 via slimserver, why not simply transcode all your music and put it on your 40GB iPod?
