I must admit that I am impressed by how loyal this community is to the products and the company behind it. You guys even beat Apple's fans :-)
However, the facts are that many people have paid for two products: Squeezebox, and Pandora (or other Sqeezenetworks serivces). Somebody screw-up the firmware and(or the software sending thousands of squeezeboxes (which people paid for) in an endless upgrade/downgrade loop. This problem has been going on for over a month and I find surprising to not see any "official" slimdevices reaction in order to support the customers. I fixed myself by using one of the beta releases (I had to try a couple of those before being lucky, and the assumption that beta releases are just as good as official releases is just plain wrong), so I am happy but that's beyond the point. When I buy a car I don't expect that at the first break-down I'am told to head for the local hardware store, get a couple of screws and fix it myself! We are all passionate about this product, but please remember that this is a commercial product sold off-the-shelf for which official warranty and support obbligations exists. Not all the users should be forced to be computer-nerds, when they are just interested in listening to music. Some just bought the product and installed whatever came with it. So my best advice would be to open an official bug and vote oin it as many as possible. In fact I can't find any bug at http://bugs.slimdevices.com/ opened to track this problem, which means probably Slimdevices is not even aware of this unless they are reading those forums (in which case I don't understand why they didn't comment on it). I would wish a 6.5.2 release NOW with nothing else but a fix to this problem or eventually an official patch. -- Aguida ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Aguida's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9285 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34705 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
