If you use a courier (UPS, Fedex, DHL etc) you will definitely be charged duty, either at the door or by letter. If you use USPS you could get lucky as Parcelforce in the UK tend to be swamped and a lot of stuff is waived through. Downside is Parcelforce no longer deliver to your door unless you have paid any duty charges (assuming they decide to charge you). This means that once the item is received by your local office they write you a nice letter asking for payment. You can do this by phoning or over the web (do not choose the web option as it will be days before the local office receives notification of payment) and then go and collect the item or have it delivered.
Your estimate of two days via courier is very optimistic - more like 5 working days.
