But only "fairly" safe. Forging an IP address is not difficult, actually being able to use it for anything useful/damaging is more difficult but not impossible (google spoofing). Don't mean to be paranoid, it just that I've experienced seemingly safe systems get compromised. Another potential caveat is that you might need lots of upstream bandwith, one for each stream (listener).
