I'm hitting a strange issue with some of my albums that I've ripped to
FLAC using EAC. When I go to Browse->Albums and press "Play" on an
album, the first track will be skipped and the second track will start
playing. The now playing list will have the first track as #1, but
selecting it and playing it causes it to jump to the second track
again.

This problem occurs 100% of the time with particular albums I've
ripped, and never happens on other ripped albums (and all were ripped
the same way). There's nothing unusual about the bad albums themselves
as far as I can tell- these are all normal commercial albums.
Re-ripping them has no effect. I've had brand new CDs that showed no
errors at all in EAC show this problem, so I don't think there's
anything wrong with the source material. The same FLAC files play just
fine in Winamp.

The solution I've found for this is to go to Browse->Music Folder and
select the file corresponding to the first track and play it. About
50% of the time it will play fine then (the other 50% I'll get "Can't
open file"), and from then for a while when I select that album and hit
play the first track will play normally. For a given file sometimes
this will work and sometimes it won't- I can't determine any pattern.
Also I can't figure out the lifetime of the fix exactly- it will
usually persist if I just close a Softsqueeze client and re-open it,
but after a few sessions things are broken again.

So although I've got a partial a workaround I do find this bizarre. Is
this an issue anyone has heard of before? My search around the forums
and google hasn't turned up anything.

Here's my version info. I had the exact same result running 32-bit
XP.
