Most people's albums are not 100% unique. Why? Because there are different albums by different artists with the same name out there in the real world. For all those ambiguous cases slimserver cannot just rely on tags alone. Handling of compilations has been discussed at least a million times in the last couple of years. A lot of people have thought about it for a very long time. The behaviour has been changed more than once. What we have today is a solution that -works for most users -doesn't need many user settings -is easy to support There are always trade-offs and you can't keep everyone happy.
