Although Amazon's prices are usually competitive, I don't think it's at all uncommon for them to inflate the list price to make it seem like they're giving more of a discount than they actually are. Here's another example I've noticed from a completely different product category, the Capresso burr coffee grinder.
http://www.amazon.com/Capresso-565-04-Infinity-Grinder-Brushed/dp/B0000AR7TC/ref=pd_sim_k?ie=UTF8&qid=1199026543&sr=8-30 For years, Amazon has sold this machine for $139.99 and shown the list price as $190, in spite of the fact the list price on the manufacturer's website has always been $139.99 and it sells for that price everywhere. I've even written Amazon customer service about this discrepancy, but they apparently don't care. I've also noticed other products on Amazon with the same time type of list-price inflation, and now we can add the Squeezebox to the list. -- corbey ------------------------------------------------------------------------ corbey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11286 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=41227 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
