That might be a valid argument if Apple had not released the iPod touch. Same retail price, but much more expensive components and NO cell subsidy...here's a summary: http://www.businessweek.com/technology/content/dec2007/tc20071217_113525.htm Now I understand Apple is producing more of their product and therefore will be benefiting from better economies of scale, but they're already making an obscene margin. Plus, their marketing (flashy tv and print) and research/design costs (no open source community) likely far outstrip your own on a per-unit basis. Cut out the NAND flash + pricey touchscreen and your MSRP looks criminal. I've been waiting for something like your product for years, but it looks like the wait may continue. Maybe the 2nd gen will offer a better value proposition. I do hope enough people buy the Duet to make that a possibility. -- renny18224 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ renny18224's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14849 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=41805 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
