It would be useful for the receiver to respond to the old remote. It could be used to pause or reduce volume, or to skip tracks. This way you could leave a (cheap) unit near each receiver, when you have to turn it off/down now, without running to find the controller you left in another part of the house. -- desertrat58 Transporter -> Bryston BP25MC preamp -> M&K (R.I.P.)
