Like Phil said you could use a crossover cable from the Squeezebox to
the laptop, but that doesn't solve your problem.

Sprint probably doesn't want you sharing your internet connection among
other devices in your house, as I'm sure they want each laptop/PC to
have it's own connection to make their revenue stream better.  If the
software from Sprint doesn't connect until you disable the ethernet
interface then you may be out of luck.

Have you tried to enable the ethernet connection once you've connected
using your Aircard?
