This is interesting; after reading this thread, I realised that it's something that's always slightly niggled me, without me fully realising it ;) I think the behaviour that I want is: when I press Play, the 'Now Playing' screensaver should be activated immediately, regardless of what the Screensaver Delay Time is currently set to. Is there any way of configuring this at the moment? Or is this an opportunity for me to try writing my first plugin?
