The SBR shares most of its hardware with the SB3 and the SB2. The SB2 was released in April 2005.
The codecs and some functions are all done in a field programmable gate array. So there's a whole lot that's reprogrammable. Also - the SBC and SBR have been through a very intensive beta test process that saw beta and then pre-production units in the hands of real-world users that bashed away at it. AFAIK, this was never done in the Slim Devices days, so the SB2, SB3 and TP were never this extensively tested. -- Mark Lanctot Ben Klass: "I won't even eat a pre-7.0 meal.
