I'm probably missing your point, but it has been possible to control the SB via wifi for several years already (eg, PDA, computer, Nokia tablet, wifi enabled cell phones, etc.). All of those use the slimserver/SqueezeCenter web interface, whereas the new controller (SBC) has its own purpose-built interface written in Lua. The SBC interface is in many ways far superior to the web ui, but if you want to use other wifi devices, the same options are still there.
Also note that at the present time you need the new SBC to setup the new Squeezebox Receiver (SBR) (SBC+SBR=Duet), but there is already a plugin in the works to make it possible to setup the SBR over regular wired ethernet. -- aubuti ------------------------------------------------------------------------ aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=41813 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
