Can't help you with the remote side > of things as I don't have one, however, the LAME side of things refers to transcoding the audio stream to mp3 prior to sending it to the Controller. Unless you've specifically configured SqueezeCenter to transcode to mp3 it should be of no effect in your setup. I presume you're listening to lossless audio eg FLAC encoded WAV files?
