The one thing that I believe nobody has addressed yet is how are you
controlling volume? When doing a side by side versus a CD player, IMO,
the volume on the SD product should be at maximum and the when using
the digital out try the fixed setting. The CD player does not suffer
from resolution loss caused by the volume setting section in the SD
product. Any side by side test needs to account for this, so volume at
Max on the SD product to eliminate any resolution loss.
