Vista ready PC's doesn't guarantee you anything really. I have a
friends who's a Senior IT consultant and exceptionally skilled. He
spent half a year getting the wireless to work with an Acer laptop with
Vista. Acer support totally refused to accept there was an issues
because the OS was actually able to discover the WLAN, but it never
worked. Hence no support at all on this issue from ACER. Anybody from
ACER or Microsoft reading this !

There is definitely no H/W issue, it took the guy 15 minutes to get the
WLAN working with an Ubuntu live CD.

The issue was resolved by a recent firmware upgrade to the wireless
router.... However, such issues are not promising for Vista.
