For an average home PC or server, you probably spend between $10-20/month in electricity keeping it running 24 hours (although that may just be due to SF/Bay Area electricity rates being exorbitant). 3. Using my SqueezeBox connected to a Cal Audio Labs tube DAC -> Parasound preamp -> B&K amp -> Thiel speakers I can maybe almost barely hear the difference between uncompressed CD audio and streamed audio in many cases.
