I have four receivers and a controller. I can honestly say that I have spent in total about 30 minutes setting everything up. This included a WHS out of the box. That was about two months ago.
I spent considerably longer re-organizing poorly tagged MP3s, but this is hardly the fault of Slim Devices. Of course, everybody's mileage varies, but my fiddle factor is and was 0.
