My duet set up experience was very similar to yours. It took several hours of tinkering before I managed to get the controller on SC. In the end, removing the username/password on SC made most problems go away. Normally this would be the sort of bug I would log. But I found the behaviour to be quite unpredictable and unreproduceable -- too much so to be able to write a good bug report. My plan instead is to leave the password off for LAN access, and add a secured http proxy for WAN access. That would be more secure anyway. maggior;327444 Wrote: > > I wonder if the issue is that the stock FW that the controller had was > really old and presented a problem. > I had this suspicion, so upgraded the controller FW manually with an SD card. All this did was give me a different set of unpredictable behaviour. The controller finally managed to connect to the passworded SC but didn't work properly or stay connected afterwards. maggior;327444 Wrote: > > If Joe-Shmoe user had my experience, I think the box would have been > returned. > I was left thinking exactly the same thing. I like SB/SC and have been prepared to spend a fair amount of time tinkering to make it work for us over the last few years -- but the Duet setup did leave me with a bitter taste.
