I bet this is a common problem, but I think Andrea has made the key point here. If they are using computer-lab machines, it doesn’t matter that whether they can install / configure the machines, or convince the sysadmin to do it, or use a pre-packaged virtual environment or one of these other solutions.
In any of these cases they will not be taking home their working environment. Is there a possibility to give participants the *option* to use their own laptops, and those who can’t do this could use the institutional systems? -Steve > On Mar 28, 2016, at 11:53 , Andrea Zonca <[email protected]> wrote: > > With locked-down machines, the learners already loose the opportunity to have > a working environment on their laptop at the end of the workshop. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.software-carpentry.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss_lists.software-carpentry.org
