Hi esther and all,
You may have hit on something here but I don't know how well it would
fly and don't have a way to test it as my windows box which has ssh
on it doesn't have any apps I can run remotely. The senario though
is this, he could run ssh or ftp for that matter if it would be of
use from the Mac and if the target has an iinterface which can be
used, that might work. Along those liines, why could safari or lynx
not be used?

David,
I suspect that the issue here isn't just accessibility. If Larry needs
this for newsgroups for his classes with SSL support it is probably
because it will be used for receiving and submitting assignments
in secure fashion from students. I thought of tin, but I'm not
sure how the secure aspect would work running in terminal. Is
there any ssh or sftp equivalent mode of interaction there?
Just my thoughts.

Larry and all,
I saw it said on this list that os x news is accessible. If it is
and your news groups are compatible with it, we need to figure out
how to get it to work for you. The only other option I have for you
is tin which you can get through darwin ports and run in terminal.

Hi,
Sorry to bug you all with this again. I've tried Thunderbird,
Entourage and OSXNews now with no success. I specifically need a
news reader that will help me to subscribe to my groups for my
classes. More specifically, I need one that supportts SSL or secure
connections. OSXNews was my best hope but it will not work because
it won't support SSL. Any further suggestions?
