Hi,
When I try to assign an application to open a specific file type,
I run into problems. For instance, to make textedit the default editor
for .cnf file from nfbtrans, I found nfbtrans.cnf in finder and pressed
CMD-i to bring up the get info dialogue. I then select other in the
pop-up menu for default application. This brings up a new dialogue, and
this is where things start going bad. I navigate to what VO calls
"browser" and interact with it. VO say something like "applications row
-2 billion of 11". I can use the VO keys to navigate right and into the
list of applications and then down to textedit (navigation by letter
makes finder busy). However, I can find no way to select it so that the
add btn is undimmed. If I have VO and mouse track each other, the mouse
does not follow VO but stays on the apple menu. I have found similar
dialogues in other instances and other applications as well with equally
little success. Any suggestions? (Note: VO says "browser" and not "file
browser"; there also two unknowns to the left of browser with which VO
cannot interact.)
Thanks.
Greg
