Hi. OK, regarding my problems with both the HP driver installers and
the Read Iris installer. I tried turning off the mouse keys, and
disabling the tracking options for the mouse in VO. Then I ran the
installers again, and am getting absolutely no difference in results
at all. I've had a sighted person check this again. When I press VO
+CMD+F5, the mouse pointer is not even moving into the installer
windows. Actually the pointer seems to be located on the top menu
bar when I run these apps. The coordinates of the mouse pointer
remain constant at 16 X, 16 Y. The only way to move it seems to be
with the physical mouse and that, obviously, isn't possible for me
with VO. So I have no idea what's going on. But as I say, VO is
telling me that it's routing the mouse to the buttons, but it
actually isn't. I'd really like to see Apple give us a way to read
by moving the mouse pointer. As in use the numeric keypad to hear
what's under the mouse and to manipulate the mouse pointer that way.
I've long thought that VO's integration with this aspect of the OS is
lacking. Hot keys are find as far as they go. But this kind of
control might make a few more applications accessible.
