Thanx, ever so much everyone. You have solved my problems. Now I shall be able to fax documents to my sister and her atrorney, contrary to what the Tech had told me. Was afraid to try this on my own as I did not want to mess up my Mac. Since I only have one 'phone number, shall mostly fax out. If I am expecting a fax, shall have one notify me by 'phone, then set up fax to pick up on first ring as 'phone messaging picks up second to fourth rings depending on how many messages I already have. [I used to do this on my first Mac, PPC Performa 6320.] JG

If you were trying to use dial up service and broad band service at the same time, that would not be possible. Faxing and internet access however are two different things which are both accomodated easily on the Mac. You can while connected to your broadband service, send and receive faxes via your fax modem.
