Hi!
I observed something interesting with my Ibook this morning, I'm just
wondering whether this sort of thing has happened to other Ibook or
Mac users.
I had a few tasks runnin on the Ibook this morning including
VoiceOver, Macamp (which was playing a file from a playlist), Mail,
Text Edit, Fire etc.
I decided to check my mail so I paused Macamp in its playing of the
file and used alt-tab to get to the Mail Application Window and then
I heard it, the sound from the Ibooks speakers had become distorted.
My immediate thought was that somehow, the sound coming from the file
I was playing with Macamp (which was an old-time radio type of file
with plenty of noise in the background) had runed the Ibook speakers
so I just shook my head and quietly comtemplated just how much Apple
may charge me for a replacement set of speakers for the Ibook and
went to get out a set of old computer speakers to plug into the
headphones socket of the Ibook as a substitute.
So I plugged in and switched on and it didn't take me too long to
realise that the distortion was still there through the computer
speakers, very odd so I closed all running applications, shut the
Ibook down and restarted it, I'm pleased to say the distortion has
completely disappeared but I'm at a loss to know what caused it in
the first place, an overworked CPU? <smile>
