Ok, well I'm not going to argue with you as you've obviously made up
your mind but I'd like to address a few issues here.
Firstly, if you did what I suggested in a previous message (that is
change the view) then you wouldn't have to itneract with anything at
all as the Edit Box would be the only thing being displayed on the
screen unless you specifically customised your screen to display
other elements, tools, drawers, rulers or views and I found this made
things heaps easier.
No difference in the menus? Well again that's twaddle but each to
their own, if Text Edit does what you wish it to do then that's fine
but Nisus is a far more powerful application than Text Edit offering
heaps more possabilities and flexability.
And finally, Nisus has been updated quite a bit lately.

I've tried nisus writer. The demo expired months (years?) ago, and
you need to interact with the scroll area to get at your text. No
way to test the saving utilities to see if they work properly, and I
didn't see anything in the menus that I can't do with text edit or
some combination of other utilities already. For me, it's a waste of
$69, and in my opinion, not as easy to use, nor as accessible, so
it's of no use to me.
