First off, many people question the legality of allofmp3.com. But beyond
music, itunes also has many television shows you can buy, either an
episode at a time, or complete seasons. This is something I personally
wouldn't mind access to. Finally, as I understand it, itunes is the only
way to play audible books on the Mac. This is a feature I would
particularly like since it would make one less reason to use my windows
machine.
So if all you want is to just play mp3 files, then yes you're right,
access to itunes isn't necessary. However, there are perfectly valid
reasons why someone might want itunes. While these reasons aren't deal
breakers when it comes to the Mac, we shouldn't simply be told to get over
it.

One major reason to not get over itunes accessibility is that some of us,
at least me, would like to have use of the itunes music store. We are
basically locked out of that market at the moment.

And I don't think people have "gotten over" iTunes either; we've found
other solutions but that doesn't mean I, and probably others, wouldn't
continue to advocate for its accessibility.
