I hope you won't be offended by my asking another obvious question
but did you remove it from the Dock or actually delete the file? If
you actually deleted the file I'll send you a copy privately via e-mail.

If you have not emptied the Trash, you should just be able to open
the Trash and move Textedit back to the Appplications folder.
Also, there is a multi-level Undo in the Edit menu.
