Hi Christian,

So If I go and buy the Imac I will not get the web and FTP server with Tiger? Is this correct?
Many

As Alastair mentioned, you will get Web and FTP services through OS X Tiger on your iMac and excellent Firewall as well. You asked at one point about only being able to "Start/Stop" the Firewall service and how to affect opening various ports. When you click on the Start button of the Firewall in the Sharing Preferences, continue navigating right and you will notice Vo read the word "Allow" followed by a "Table". Interact with that "Table" and you can enable and disable ports for applications accordingly. There is also the facility to add a new port not listed. Consult the Help for details on how to configure those ports. I will mention though that for the most part, your Mac is not vulnerable to port attacks like Windows. I believe that it was Alastair again that mentioned about needing to type in an Administrator password in order to make any changes to your system. So, in a nutshell, if you don't know why your typing in that Administrator password, don't and you shouldn't have any issues.
