Couple of questions:
1. Have you tried Nisus Writer Express? Nisus Writer is pretty
powerful/full-featured and, as far as I know, properly VoiceOver

2. Sometimes, because it is a small and unassuming application,
people wrongly assume that TextEdit is not also richly-featured and
capable. What is it exactly that TextEdit does not do that you want
it to do?
