Well, I would imagine that, though it would be more time-consuming,  
"if at first you don't succeed, turn and try again" would probably  
work. Not optimal but better than waiting around for a sighted  
person. And it sounds like coupled with the omnipage or readiris you  
could surmount this, if I understood correctly.
