Yes, it is correct that removing the login item doesn't remove the 
appliction; it just keeps it from being started on login. However, again, 
I'm not sure that Speechsynthesisserver and vo are synonymous; in fact I 
think they are not as in my google search I found that it is pretty 
standard for speechSynthesisserver to be in the login items list and most 
people aren't using vo. How it would have affected vo or what it would 
have affected I don't know, but I didn't want to find out.
