Abdul does make some very good points and to not drag this topic
needlessly out of shape, Sprint just reported loosing 300,000
customers in the last couple of months. Cingular on the other hand
seems to be growing rapidly. I switched from Verizon Wireless to
Spring, and right over to Cingular for lots of reasons, but partly
cause I wanted something accessible.
Now one item I'd like to mention, Cingular does have a National
Center for Customers with DIsabilities. Verizon Wireless who was sued
years ago sure hasn't done a damned thing to improve accessibility
and in fact has gone the other direction. If your interested in
Cingular service, they do offer the Nokia 6620 which is an older
phone, but they still offer it with Talks, call 1-866 241-6568 for
more details. My point I guess in this entire topic is that choose
what works best for you and if accessibility is that important, then
you may have to settle for the carrier who offers the most phones
which can run Mobile Speak for example.
The good thing is, at least there are options, five years ago the
options were considerably slimmer.
