Gabe has quiet a bit of knowledge and actually wants to contribute.
However, his method of communication grates on many other personality
or temperament types. It is an issue of communication style and or
skill. I empathize with Gabe quiet a bit as I know at times I have to
be very aware and diplomatic in my communication or I too will appear
arrogant, short or abrasive. It may not all come from ill intent. I
think what would be useful for everyone including Gabe is for Gabe to
have some self awareness in this issue and have some private
mentorship or moderation in his posting here.
Maybe a volunteer "vibes" watcher that could politely and privately
email people suggesting that they stay on track with information
provided in a concise and non-judgmental manner.
It is silly to lose people over crude communication styles or
abilities. The cycle of people leaving and Gabe getting booted needs
to end. The onus is often placed upon the minority. It is really
tantamount for Gabe to be aware and mentored.
Perhaps the gentleman that receives some private support could
volunteer to the moderator, list and Gabe. The responsibility would
include re-writing his post and stripping out anything that was not
information. Gabe's responsibility would be to be aware and practice
writing posts that avoid inclusion or conjecture towards a persons
ability or knowledge.
We all of course need to have a thicker skin online then in our real
world. And the moderator needs to make sure that that is stated in
the sign up info. People need to be thick skinned, patient, and
forgiving. Some of the perceived wrongs are much ado about nothing.
The point is we should be clever in how to be inclusive. The whole
world needs win win solutions. Would you not wish the same for yourself?

to handle this kind of situation you have to see beyond and behind the
behavioural pattern and approach with 1 a degree of caution and 2
total respect.
as remember one should treat the other as one wishes to be treated.
