When I moderate lists, I never ban anybody unless I absolutely have to. And
on a list like this, that would probably never come up. If someone is
obnoxious, people can just press the DEL key. Or learn how to create a mail
filter. Or just look the other way. Learn some tolerance. Get a thicker
skin.
I think often people leave lists as a way to put pressure on the moderator.
They're trying to lay a guilt trip on you. If people really are so fed up
with the behavior of another member that they are going to unsubscribe, they
could just go ahead and do that. But no, they usually leave a good-bye
message. Why do people invariably post those messages saying, "I'm fed up!
I'm leaving!"? Because they want the moderator to take their side.
Baloney, I say. Just press the DEL key.
If you're hhoping Gabe will change, you can forget it. That never happens
either. In my opinion, you have a choice between being tolerant or not
letting him back on.

As some of you know, Gabe Vega, also known as blindTech, has been removed
from this list twice in the past before I began moderating. He has sent
me a message apologizing for previous behaviour and requests to be let
back on the list. I guess I'm looking for a consensus for whether I
should give him another chance. I know some members unsubscribed because
of him before and I wouldn't want to make a decision without feeling the
waters. I'm giving it 24 hours for anyone who has any objections to
respond.
Hi
I don't mind, as long as he will respect other peples opinions, just as
other peopple shoul an will respect his. He has a lot of knowledge with
Mac OS X and but others like myself ar not as fortunate.
As long as Gabe is nice and respectful, then i have no problem having him
back on the list, but if he return to his old ays, do not b surprised if
i unsubscribe.
Best Wishes
James
