Hello James,
How are you launching your widgets? I never have the problem of
multiple copies of a widget.
I press F12 to open Dashboard, then press ctrl-Option_F2 twice to get
the Window Chooser Menu, then navigate down to the widget I want and
press Return.
Installing widgets can be a problem for VO users as on many of them,
the Accept or Done button is not accessible with VO and sighted help
is needed.
