I think it is better to close them anyway. After all, from what someone told
me in the store, the dashboard widgets keep on running otherwise at startup.
It's best to run them as and when you need them.

Actually the ***Voice Over command*** mentioned (VO-Command-F2) DOES work
to close both windows and widgets... After pressing these keys, Voice
Over asks you "Close window (or widget)? Return yes, Escape no."
Remember, closing widgets, though, removes them from the Dashboard. If
you just want to close the Dashboard, cycle to a different application
using Command-Tab.
To select a different widget, use the Voice Over Application menu (VO-
F1F1).
I also want to remind everyone that the Voice Over Commands menu (VO- HH)
will bring up a list of all possible keystrokes at that moment in time
and what they will do... In this list, you will find the Command "Close
Window Command F2." Remember, you have to add the VO keys, so Command-F2
is really Control-Option-Command-F2.
Hope this helps...
Lou.

Would be nice if you could close anything with the same keystroke
(command+w
would be a great choice). My brain has a limited number of slots for
keyboard
shortcuts ...
You use command option control f2 to close widgets. You may also have
to press fn if you have a laptop and depending on how you have fn set.

Wow that's obscure! Anyone know how to cycle through open widgets in the
dashboard?
