It's not a matter of thinking you should have known all about ogg files or
all about where to copy them, just a matter of trying the instructions you
are given and then reporting back your results. I can't see any way you
should have known the difference it would make if you put the component in
/Library/Components vs. Library/Components in your home directory. If you
used command-shift-c you placed it in your global Library probably:
/Library. If you used command-shift-h you placed it in your home directory:
/Users/username/Library. By username I mean whatever your username is. But
probably the idea of slash in your path is something you think more about if
you are working in the terminal application on the Mac; when you are
navigating with Finder, you don't think as much about paths that way.
The key you are referring to as "alt" is called "cmd" or "command" on the
Mac. If you have an
apple keyboard, the key next to the command key is called the option key and
the third key is called Control--one familiar name at least!!!
