You can always use a cd or backup items to a flash drive or similar
item if you wish. To be really honest, if you can find it in your
budget to purchase an external, I can't recommend it enough to you. If
you plan to upgrade to Leopard, you will really want this for Time
Machine. Firewire drives aren't very expensive and is the first choice
in drives and of course you can always get an external usb as well.
