ok, so now i did that, and it got one message.
So, how can i tell if messages are being downloaded?
Is this something i have to do every time i get mail now?
when i hit the tab key on the messages table now and go up and down
with the arrow keys, i see nothing.

mailbox. Press command I, look for a tab that says messages on
server. Make sure that the pop up says all. Go to the messages
table in that same dialog and wait for the messages to be
downloaded. These are all the messages that are on your server.

I saw earlier, the option to leave messages on the server. That
seems like the most obvious one.
