Yes, I use Command-L to get to the Google Address Bar, too, and
can move to Google Search with VO right arrow, but when I want
to go directly to the Google Search field in Safari I use
Command-Option-F

It's all a matter of what you're used to using, and there are many
great shortcuts that do the same thing.

Command-Option-F sunk in from the days before there was a VoiceOver
manual, and when working in Apps where fields and buttons weren't
labelled. I still use it a lot in iTunes because, whereever I am, especially
if I'm use VO-keys plus arrow keys instead of tabbing, I know that I
can quickly get to the search text field and orient myself.

New users will probably find it easier to remember Command-L and
VO right arrow, though.

Cheers,

Esther
